how old or how big is a red arowana before you start tanning it? I have a 12" super red. I use 1 - 40watt & 1 - 30 watt Sera tropic sun royale 4,600K and 1 - 30 watt TFC pink lights. What do you recommend?

thanks, right now he's got the orange color on his cheeks and wide shiny gold rims on his scales. Am thinking of putting 30 watts actinic and 40 watts 10,000k plant flourescent. |

pH acts as an important role as well,if you fix a peat filter to a required pH at 6.0 or 6.5 you might find them with better red coloration,I learnt from book that in native kalimantan the red aros live in ph at 5.50 pH is it true ?
