hi all bro here i`m still new in keeping arowana....... but really love those nice red.... but my question is how could we prevent DE. THANKS A MILIONS EVERYONE FOR YOUR ADVISE......

Hi there,
sadly its not possible to be prevented if you put the fish in a tank. As normally a tank is positioned quite above the ground, fish will be tempted to glance out of the tank looking down.
Putting things that float in your tank "might" help? the idea behind this: fish's attention is supposed to be drawn into that material instead..of course this is arguable as some ppl might find it useless and ineffective...
Its a different story if you keep em in a pond as far as i know, heard tht the chance of having drop eyes could be drastically reduced...

saya sih pelihara aro 7 kali di aquarium ga pernah DE tuh...
entah kebetulan entah memang cara nya benar. (maklum newbie)

menurut saya, (sorry kalo salah) untuk ikan kecil (sebelum 40cm) jangan di kasih tankmate. Biarkan dia hidup sendiri di aquarium nya.

lalu kasih makan hanya makanan yang mengambang. jangan pernah kasih yang tenggelam ke dasar.

Yes you can prevent DE. Do these:-
- Don't place your tank near window where light is brighter on one side
- Use transparent glass cover

Right...use transparent glass cover. It works for me....
