Cover all sides of the tank completely with dark paper. Put a centralised light source, and switch it on for 12 hours a day. Try instead feeding little frogy or cricket(anything that float). Or splash it goes to the pond if u got one....it will recover itself in time, but living in a urban/city area...this might be a prob.
